AtomicSparkle Skytower
AtomicSparkle Skytower of AtomicBambi skins has introduced a new skin for men, Christian. I have seen a number of skin creators, typically used to and quite skilled at women’s skins, make an attempt at men’s skins. Many struggle, as the right nuances to make a men’s skin look… well… like a man are not easy to achieve. Christian is AtomicBambi’s first attempt at a skin for men; and, honestly, I’ve never seen a better run straight out of the gate for a “rookie.”
I admit that I am sort of a skin pimp. Though I have my usual daily look that is just me, I’m not afraid to look for better, for skins that suit my real life personality and look to some degree, and for skins that are unique. I wore both the Sunkissed and the Tan versions of Christian for the purpose of this blog review. And, in comparison, I held them up against two of what I believe are the best and brightest of skin designers: if you want to compete with the big guns, better know where you stand when they are firing… Damiani (Sean Dark) and Belleza (Ewan Tan), both of which I wear regularly.

AtomicSparkle Skytower has created a very handsome face with a stunning dark hair base and dramatic eyebrows. Personally, the Tan version of Christian is a little too dark for my norm and I preferred the Sunkissed, however both skin tones hold up to the competition. They are male skins all the way, not overdrawn or lipsticked and blushed with more make up than Jori would wear. The shading is well done, features are proportionate, and the combinations of facial hair as well as bald and hair base are generous. I felt the cheekbones, I believe in an effort to highlight them with some dimension, look a little “frostbitten” but not enough to distract me from really liking this new skin.
As for the body, the details are all there: the collarbone detail so hard to achieve is very well done, strong pectorals, abdominals, tremendous detailing in the hands, arms, and fingers, right down to the knees. AtomicSparkle really seems to know how to capture the male form with particular attention. Again, I preferred the Sunkissed tone over the Tan: as you can see from the photo, the Tan is dramatically darker than the Sunkissed as well as the dark versions of the Belleza and Damiani skins. The placement of the bellybutton on Christian, in my opinion, was a little high; and, as a result, without revealing my Ken doll parts, the groin area appeared elongated and slightly disproportionate in comparison to the other skins as well as my personal preference. Maybe some prefer a more “robust triangulation,” I will leave that to your opinion as it really is a matter of personal preference.

Turning attention to the backside, the detailing once again holds up against major skin competitors. The shoulder blades and spine are well defined. The backs of the knees and the calves are realistic and clear. The butt, although well defined and true to form, is a little “dark” in my opinion. When I discussed this feedback with AtomicSparkle, who was so gracious and accepting of the comments as it pertains to everything written here, we talked candidly about the realism: that some men simply have dark, hairy butts. Achieving the realism of male hair without it looking “dirty” is difficult; therefore, I prefer a lighter shading on the butt regardless of whether you’ve got a hairy ass or not! And you’ll see from the Belleza and Damiani skins, the butts are lighter without losing the form and definition.
Trying a new skin from any designer is always a mystery: you just never know what to expect, even from the most accomplished male skin makers. And, trying a skin from a reputable designer who wants to compete in the male skin arena is even more surprising at times. This Christian skin from AtomicSparkle Skytower and AtomicBambi is really outstanding…. A pleasant surprise for all the right reasons. I am confident that future male skins from AtomicBambi will surpass expectations; and, with that in mind, there is a place for AtomicBambi to be extremely competitive in the male skin marketplace.
